Requirements
Task Manager requires an Apple Silicon Mac (M series) running macOS 15 or later. Intel Macs are not supported.
Common questions
How do I see all CPU cores?
Open Performance and select CPU. Logical processors is the default. Use CPU view to switch between individual graphs and overall utilization.
Why does the desktop widget update less often?
The floating monitor updates while the app runs. Desktop widgets use periodic snapshots and macOS schedules refreshes. “Sampled” shows the age of the last reading; a widget is not a second-by-second monitor.
How do I choose widget measurements?
For the floating monitor, select Configure. For a desktop widget, right-click it and select Edit Mac resources. CPU, memory, SSD, network and battery can be selected independently.
Why are some readings unavailable?
macOS restricts some process counters and hardware sensors. GPU availability depends on driver counters. A dash means the measurement is unavailable, rather than zero.
What do the battery watts mean?
They measure power flowing into or out of the battery. When plugged in, zero battery discharge does not mean the Mac consumes zero power. Adapter rating is its capacity, not a live consumption measurement. Per-app watts are not shown.
Can I manage startup and energy settings?
The App Store edition opens macOS Login Items and Battery settings for these controls. Process termination is handled in Activity Monitor. Apple Sandbox restrictions limit direct control of other apps.
Which process memory measurement is shown?
The App Store edition shows resident size (RSS) where available. Shared pages can be counted in multiple processes; adding process memory values does not represent total physical memory use.

The planned Mac App Store edition is a one-time paid download with no subscription or in-app purchases. Apple handles purchases and refunds through your Apple Account. This site does not sell or activate licenses.
